ÖSTERMALM feels composed and well put together, with wide streets and solid turn of the century buildings that give the whole area a sense of permanence. Around Karlaplan and stretching out toward Gärdet, it opens up with calmer streets, greenery, and a more residential everyday rhythm. It has a reputation for being a bit formal, but in practice it is calm, orderly, and quietly self assured.
